First Time DUI

It is very costly to get a DUI in Clearwater. Not only are the penalties in Pinellas County severe, but the fines and time commitment can create extra unforeseen complications. A DUI conviction in Clearwater requires up to 12 months of probation through the Salvation Army Correctional Services. During this probationary period, you are responsible for meeting the demands of the court. These can be both costly and time consuming, including a minimum fine of $500.00 with a maximum fine of $1,000.00, court costs, costs of prosecution, 50 hours of community service and up to 6 months in county jail. And this is just the beginning. If convicted of a DUI in Clearwater, your license will be revoked for 180 days. You will be required to complete a mandatory 12 hour DUI course through the Suncoast Safety Council located at 1145 Court Street, which requires further costs and time commitment. Your vehicle may be impounded and immobilized for 10 days following your Clearwater DUI conviction.
